The story behind song time capsule
Travelling Tumbleweed:
I refer to myself as a tumbleweed. Born and raised in Northern England, I found myself longing to discover a little of the world. In my mid-twenties I sailed for the coasts of Africa where I lived in both South Africa and Rhodesia, (later to become Zimbabwe.) After seven years on that continent the political unrest gave cause for concern for the safety of my family and so we transported ourselves to Canada. Once here, a variety of circumstances resulted in time spent in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, back to British Columbia where I resided on Vancouver Island for twenty years before finally returning to Alberta.
In between, I also spent time in Israel and several visits back to Europe, England, Scotland, Wales, USA and the East coast of Canada.
These varying locations all offered their own individual beauty from the green valleys of England and Wales to the heather covered Highlands of Scotland, from the plains of Africa to the plains of the Alberta Prairies, from Israel’s Mediterranean Ocean to the Pacific West Coasts all of which have inspired my visual art.
So now finally in my forever home I'm able to follow my passion for the arts: songwriter/musical performer, visual artist & poet.
In terms of visual art, I'm still experimenting but tend to be drawn toward nature and landscapes.
All of the artworks displayed on this website are my original paintings, some sold and some available for purchase.
I'm definitely an out of the box kind of person but also “I think” pretty grounded.
Most recently I moved from Jordan River, BC (a remote area of Vancouver Island) to the County of Grande Prairie, AB.
And find myself inspired by both the landscapes of past and present.
As a new arrival in the Peace Country, I’m hoping to connect with folks interested in creating positive experiences through music, poetry and all aspects of the arts. Hence this website!

A musical revolution for our times
My songwriting often delves into the social conditions and spiritual undercurrents of our world. You'll find folk-type songs with a hint of protest, yet always infused with hope. Just as the music of the 60s spoke to its era, I believe our present moment in time, with its crumbling world order and disunity, desperately needs songs that spark positive conversation. They do say that music is an international language proven to lift spirits and bring us together. So my little grass roots mission is to share songs that resonate within whilst inspiring an outward unified vision toward collective and positive change.

Consequently, my creative journey seamlessly weaves together music, lyrics, and visual arts. Each medium is sourced from a fundamental awareness of unity and the profound beauty that exists all around us. Whether through a melodic phrase, a poignant lyric, or a vibrant canvas, these different forms of expression collaborate to convey a soul connection. For me this integrated approach makes each project an ageless, creative expression. A "Time Capsule" offering multiple entry points and a shared experience of optimistic awareness.

In a world often filled with discord, I aim to create arts that highlight the beauty of existence, speak to truth and the potential for unity. It's about seeing the challenges we face, but also recognizing our collective power to inspire change and foster hope.
